The New Hampshire activist who was arrested because he was taking pictures inside a courthouse and jailed for 57 days because he then refused to identify himself, has been unconditionally released from jail:

Note the attempt by an officer to block his supporters from filming the event.

About time! Three cheers for Sam Dodson!
Exercising rights even after threatened with unlawful arrest! Hip hip, Hooray!
Not co-operating and therefore not allowing the whole charade look even remotely legit! Hip hip, Hooray!
And outlasting the hypocritical bastards, they blinked first! Hip hip, Hooray!
If I had managed to last that long, I wouldn’t have left then, they seemed pretty desperate to get him out, but not enough to give him paperwork beyond an invalid bail agreement. I’d have stuck around, and waited for the lawyer.
I can’t wait for Sam Dodson v. Edward Burke.
Unlawful arrest, False imprisonment leading to lost income and physical and mental suffering, first amendment violations, Miranda rights violations, and so on.

Oh Ed, you have anger issues. Do you think just because you can’t be bothered to stay calm, you can make up your own rules? I know you don’t deserve it, but I pity you. So few have the influence and power you wield, and you forget who gave it to you, and thus turn the dragon inside out. Was it you who got them to release Sam? If so, was it because you finally saw what you did wrong, or just realized your control was slipping away? Will you apologize?
Will you pull down the ‘No filming’ sign in your court, printed in a bad font on cheap paper, only held there by scotch tape and the others’ fear of losing their job? Will you get help instead of blaming others for your shortcomings?
I hope so, because you made an error these last months, and if you don’t turn back soon, you may never get to.
You get angry in front of a camera, and then blame the camera. You’re acting like wife beater who thinks she deserves it.
Go on, prove you’re still worthy of being a judge. I dare you.
